Fun with Habari

The more I play with Habari the more I realise the possibilities for blogging and content management. Habari doesn't do everything but for a good designer / coder combo I really think it can open doors. So I decided to take a look for some Habari powered sites that really stand out....

A few days ago I wrote a post on Fun with WordPress, about writing plugins that expect to be reconfigured. Part of that post was to show how template files could be used in a way that allowed theme authors to automatically override them. This, of course, was heavily inspired by the Habari system which I promised to demonstrate here....

I recently moved a photoblog from one domain to another, and from WordPress to Habari at the same time. It was one that had been running for a while and I had 180+ photos that I needed to move to Habari, and more, to move across domains. That meant 180+ posts with an image URL in each one. The solution was fairly simple so I thought I should share the basic code I used....

Habari is young and I expect more and more people will be tempted to try it out so I thought I would launch a little into what has got me to where I am with it....

If you are new to Habari (version 0.5.1) and are looking to add content to your sidebar you should be aware that the current version of the Monthly Archives plugin, available from Habari Extras, will not work as expected....
